KENINGAU (Dec 1): Newly-elected Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STARSabah) Bingkor assemblyman Datuk Ishak Datuk Ayub has called for the community to unite.

He called for active fieldwork, greater community participation, and the engagement of youth in building a stronger, united future.

Dida, as he is commonly known, also thanked voters for their support, which enabled him to win by a commanding majority of 5,427 votes.

“This victory belongs to the people of Bingkor. Your trust and commitment are the driving forces behind this success,” he said.

He stressed that this win represents more than just raw numbers, it stands as a testament to the electorate’s confidence in a vision of orderly, inclusive, and action-oriented development.

He also paid tribute to his parents for their prayers and blessings, and extended his thanks to supporters, party workers, family members, friends, and campaign teams whose encouragement never wavered from the start to the end of the campaign.

In total, Dida secured 9,346 votes, while his nearest rival Rafie Datuk Robert of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah received 3,919 votes.

The contest for Bingkor was a 10-cornered fight.
