KOTA KINABALU (Jan 24): Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Andrew Liew Sui Fatt, JP has accepted the invitation to serve as Honorary Advisor of the Third Council of the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce, thereby continuing to contribute his wisdom and experience to the development of Sabah’s business community and the Chinese community.
Datuk Frankie Liew, President of the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce, together with key council members, recently paid a courtesy visit to Andrew to formally present the invitation letter.
The Third Council’s swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for the evening of March 16 at the Hakka Hall.
In his speech, Frankie praised Andrew as a renowned leader in Malaysia’s timber and palm oil industries. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Andamy Group and is also a member of the Sabah State Government Advisory Council. Andrew previously held the position of President of The Sabah United Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
“Tan Sri Andrew is a highly capable and skilful leader, excelling in both business and community leadership, and enjoys a distinguished reputation in both arenas,” Frankie said.
He further noted that Andrew received his early education in Chinese schools. Beyond his remarkable achievements in business, he has long been actively committed to promoting Chinese education, consistently supporting independent Chinese secondary schools and Chinese primary schools. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sabah Independent Chinese Secondary School Council, leaving a significant legacy in the development of Chinese education and the broader Chinese community in Sabah.
Frankie also commended Andrew as a model leader of the Chinese community, stating that his journey, achievements, and management insights serve as a profound source of inspiration and positive influence for entrepreneurs and younger generations, embodying values that future leaders should emulate.
On behalf of the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce, Frankie expressed his sincere gratitude for Andrew’s longstanding support and trust in the Chamber. He also conveyed full confidence that, under Andrew’s guidance, the Chamber will continue to scale new heights and achieve even greater accomplishments.
Frankie emphasized that the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce will continue to serve as a bridge and platform to unite the strength of Sabah’s China business community, while further deepening economic and trade relations between Sabah, China, and the international community.
He also expressed hope that with Andrew’s continued support and leadership, the Chamber will plan and participate in more domestic and international exhibitions, economic forums, and business exchange activities, jointly advancing Sabah’s economy to higher and more comprehensive levels of development.
