KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 1): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today denied having any connection with any party involved in the case of late American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

In a post on X, Anwar briefly said he had only today become aware that an external party had sought to meet him and had cited his name in an email exchange related to the case.

“Praise be to Allah, for the past dozen years as stated in the email, I have had absolutely no connection with any of the parties exchanging those emails, especially Epstein.

“Alright, I’m going to continue sightseeing in Johor Bahru,” said Anwar, who is in the Johor capital.

In the post, Anwar also included the hashtag #DoneExplain to indicate that he had addressed the issue.

He made the remarks following a demand by Armada Bersatu (Bersatu’s Youth wing) for him to provide clarification over allegations that he had interacted, directly or indirectly, with Epstein or any individual named in documents disclosed by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) contained in the Epstein Files archive.

According to media reports, the related documents and correspondence were released by the DOJ as part of transparency efforts in the investigation into Epstein. – Bernama
