KOTA KINABALU (Jan 9): In a bid to enhance administrative coordination and improve public services, Sabah Assistant Finance Minister Dato Mohd Ishak Ayub paid his first courtesy visit to Keningau District Council (MDK) executive officer Fawzi Abdul Kadir during a briefing at the MDK meeting room on Thursday.

The visit aimed to reinforce collaboration between state leadership and the local authority, and to gain a deeper understanding of MDK’s roles, functions, and operations in managing services and development, particularly in the Bingkor area.

During the session, Fawzi outlined MDK’s administrative structure, responsibilities, and its role as the main implementing agency of government policies at the local level, including public service coordination and district development programmes.

The discussion highlighted the importance of close cooperation between local authorities and elected representatives to ensure government policies are implemented efficiently and benefit communities at the grassroots level.

This courtesy visit marks the initial step in strengthening governance and administrative coordination between the state government and MDK, supporting efforts to improve public service delivery in Keningau.
