SERIAN (Dec 16): Yayasan Petronas and Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati) have presented new medical equipment to the Balai Ringin Health Clinic and Christmas food baskets to eligible households.

Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan, who is Balai Ringin assemblyman, said the initiative had a positive impact on the daily lives of the people, particularly in strengthening healthcare services and easing the financial burden of the community ahead of Christmas.

“On behalf of the people of Balai Ringin, I would like to express our gratitude as Balai Ringin Heath Clinic has received various essential medical equipment such as waiting chairs, hospital beds, wheelchairs, an infusion pump, a heavy-duty nebuliser, and other necessary items,” he said in a press statement.

He said the equipment is much needed to replace old and obsolete items, enabling the clinic to provide better and more efficient healthcare services to the community.

In addition, 204 households received Christmas food baskets contributed by Yayasan Petronas.

Snowdan said the assistance would help ease the financial burden of recipients, who were identified based on the e-Kasih registration data.

He added that the Petronas–Sabati collaboration is in line with Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030, which focuses on holistic and inclusive improvements to the people’s quality of life.

During the event, he also presented certificates of appointment to 11 headmen under the Balai Ringin sub-district and advised them to work closely with government agencies in implementing new and ongoing development projects in their respective villages.

Meanwhile, five churches in the Balai Ringin constituency received Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) assistance totalling RM1.005 million.

The funds provided by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government are for upgrading places of worship as well as to support a mission school.
