Ishak and Tengku Datin Aini extend their Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings while calling on Sabahans to strengthen unity.

KENINGAU (March 23): Assistant Finance Minister cum Bingkor Assemblyman Datuk Mohd Ishak Ayub has called on the people to continue strengthening unity and ukhuwah (brotherhood) in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

He said Aidilfitri is not merely a festive occasion marking the end of the fasting month, but also an important opportunity to foster closer ties among Sabah’s multi-ethnic communities, particularly in Bingkor.

According to him, values such as forgiveness, mutual respect and togetherness must continue to be nurtured as the foundation of lasting harmony.

“Alhamdulillah, we are allowed to celebrate Aidilfitri this year. I would like to wish Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all Sabahans, especially the people of Bingkor. May this celebration further strengthen our bonds of unity and togetherness,” he said in a recent statement.

He added that the spirit of Ramadan, which emphasises moderation, patience and reflection, should be carried forward into daily life as a basis for building a united and prosperous society.

At the same time, Ishak extended his sincere apologies to the public for any shortcomings.

He stressed that Aidilfitri should serve as a unifying moment for all, regardless of background, to ensure Sabah remains peaceful, stable and harmonious.

The message was also conveyed together with his wife, Tengku Datin Aini Tengku Ibrahim, and their family.
