KOTA KINABALU (Feb 10): An Ops Khas Luxury carried out by Road Transport Department (JPJ) personnel on Monday saw the seizure of a Toyota Supra 3.0L from a businessman along Jalan Tuaran.
Sabah JPJ director Datuk Mohd Harris Ali said the car was seized after checks revealed it had an expired road tax and no valid insurance coverage.
“The vehicle was also found to not comply with the specified registration number specifications,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Mohd Harris said the offences committed by the businessman fell under Sections 23(1) and 90(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“Similar operations will continue to be carried out. The JPJ will not hesitate to take strict action, including court prosecution, under the regulations and laws in force,” he added.
