KOTA KINABALU (Nov 29): Barisan Nasional (BN) says it is open to working with like-minded parties to form Sabah’s new state government following the 17th state election.

BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the coalition respects and accepts the outcome of the polls, which reflected Sabah’s vibrant democratic landscape, with 596 candidates contesting.

He added that the results show BN retains solid support and remains a key political force in the state.

“As a party prioritising political stability and the people’s wellbeing, BN is ready to collaborate with compatible parties to establish a new Sabah government,” he said in a statement.

He also urged Sabahans to maintain peace, unity, and respect for the democratic process.

He said Sabah’s path forward requires commitment from all parties, and BN will continue to play a constructive role to ensure the state advances toward progress and prosperity.
