PENAMPANG (March 6): Fire and rescue personnel (Bomba) successfully persuaded a teenage girl from jumping at Megalong Mall here.

Bomba Senior Assistant Superintendent Zeno Tingalan said six personnel from the Penampang fire station rushed to the scene after receiving a call at 5.19pm.

“The girl, age 17, was first seen sitting on a railing on the fifth floor of the shopping mall.

“Bomba personnel managed to talk and calm the girl down before she climbed back down from the balcony,” he said in a statement.

The girl, who was unharmed, was then handed over to the police for further action, Zeno added, noting that no untoward incidents occurred before the operation ended at 6pm.
