KUCHING, Dec 30: The first day of Borneo SarXIndo Concert held at Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) here started off with a seemingly passive crowd, with many sitting down to listen to the music.
However, do not let these concert-goers fool you as they were warming up for the whole event.
As early as 6pm, people started flocking to the arena, comfortably taking their seats prior to the performance.
With the theme ‘Pre-New Year’s Eve Party’ , the concert saw Alu Alu Band opening with an energetic performance, getting the crowd into the mood.
They were followed by metal band Senseless, leading the fans to headbang to their heavy music.
DJ AWG then took the stage as the first deejay among the lineup, successfully getting most of the ‘sitting’ crowd to get up on their feet and onti the dance floor.
The crowd’s momentum continued with DJ LENN and DJ Cassie D playing their sets respectively.
Right after DJ Cassie D’s set, the whole crowd were chanting for DJ AlexisGrace, who was the headliner for the first day.
Many held up their mobile phones taking photos and videos of the moment and at the same time, dancing to the songs.
Organised by High Achievers Networking Events (HNE), the second day of Borneo SarXIndo Concert will continue tomorrow (Dec 30) with another powerful lineup.
With the theme ‘Sarawak Galau’, the second day will see Meruked as the opening act followed by DJ Keyushee and Big Jamm Band performances.
The highlights afterwards would be the three anticipated Indonesian artists, namely Aris Idol of ST12 band, Dadali band and Nidji band.
Concert director Izzat Adnan told the media last night that members of the public can still purchase their ticket through walk-in, now at a revised price of RM50.
The SCV entrance is open starting 12pm where visitors can enjoy daytime activities at the venue such as jamming sessions (war drum), DJ sessions, cultural shows, food and beverages (F&B) bazaars and merchandise and craft booths.
The concert on the other hand, will begin around 6pm and expected to end around 1am the following day. — DayakDaily
