Car destroyed by fire in Putatan

KOTA KINABALU (Jan 5): A car was destroyed in a fire along Jalan Putatan Ketiau on Sunday.

Putatan Fire and Rescue Station chief Noor Sherriyana Bohari said the department received an emergency call at about 11am.

“Six personnel were dispatched to the location, about one kilometre away, with the fire engine arriving approximately two minutes later.

“Upon arrival, the firefighters found the car already 100 percent engulfed in flames before swift action was taken to extinguish the fire,” she said in a statement.

According to her, the fire was brought under control within a few minutes and the operation was concluded at 11.12am.

“A further inspection was carried out to ensure there were no additional hazards at the scene, and no casualties were reported,” she said.
