KOTA KINABALU (March 2): The Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce Sabah (MCCCS) gathered recently for a distinctive Lunar New Year celebration.

About 60 advisors, council members and members gathered to deepen friendships, enhance connectivity and foster business collaboration at the MBS Tuning Sdn Bhd premises.

Women Entrepreneurs Committee (WEC) council member Victoria Su, who planned and organised the event, said that members had the rare opportunity to step into the distinctive workshop dedicated to servicing high-end and performance vehicles.

She said selecting MBS Tuning, which is a member company of the Chamber, was deliberate effort to challenge conventional perceptions of traditional automotive workshops.

“Many people associate workshops with noise and clutter. However, modern professional automotive facilities emphasise organisation, management and customer experience.

“This space is comfortable, thoughtfully designed and truly resembles a car enthusiasts club. We hope such a setting allows members to celebrate the New Year in a relaxed atmosphere while appreciating the diversity, innovation and transformation of local enterprises,” she said.

Meanwhile, Su also shared that the Chamber will host its annual gala dinner on April 25, which promises a “captivating fusion of traditional Chinese cultural heritage and contemporary artistic expression”.

During the gathering, MCCCS president Dexter Lau distributed angpows (red packets) to attendees, and also symbolically took up the dragon head during the traditional dragon dance to signify his commitment in leading the chamber forward in the year ahead.
