TUARAN (March 9): Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor attended an iftar (breaking-of-fast) programme at Masjid Nurusaadah in Kampung Bolong Lama here on Monday, presenting Ramadan contributions to 200 recipients.

The beneficiaries included members of the asnaf (those eligible for tithe) group, hardcore poor, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PwD).

Organised by the Yayasan Kebajikan Sabah (YKS), the event was also enlivened with a Ramadan tazkirah (talk), followed by the breaking-of-fast and congregational Maghrib, Isyak and Terawih prayers.

Among those present were Pantai Dalit assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya, nominated assemblyman Datuk Abdul Kassim Razali, YKS Director Datuk Diyanah Abdullah, Tuaran District Officer Ibrahim Terki, Chief Executive Officer of Jetama Sdn Bhd Datuk Ahmad Naim Uddang, and Deputy Chairman of the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis) Datuk Malai Ali Malai Ahmad.

The iftar initiative underscored the state government’s ongoing commitment to support vulnerable groups, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, through timely financial assistance and community engagement initiatives.
