KUCHING: Aaron Tai and Yap Roy King kept their momentum rolling at the Denmark Open, coming from a game down to beat South Korea’s Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jong Min in a tense opening-round battle on Wednesday today (Oct 14)
The Malaysians needed 57 minutes to complete the turnaround, winning 13-21, 21-18, 21-19 after being put under early pressure by the Korean pair.
Aaron and Roy King struggled to find their rhythm in the opening game, but settled into the contest in the second and began taking more control at the net and in the faster exchanges.
The decider was much tighter.
Neither pair could pull clear for long, and with the match hanging on small margins, Aaron and Roy King held their nerve in the closing points to finish the job 21-19.
The win sends them into an all-Malaysia last-16 clash against Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.
