KOTA KINABALU (Jan 31): Dr Sabrina Mohammad has been appointed as a member of the Jalan Kebajikan health clinic advisory panel for the 2026-2029 term, which will drive forward the move to realise the Health for All agenda.
The advisory panel serves as a key driver of community engagement, and will bridge local communities with the Health Department in the planning, management and implementation of inclusive and comprehensive health programmes.
Dr Sabrina, who lives with a physical disability, is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health and holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.
Commenting on her appointment, she stressed that the success of the health agenda could not solely rely on the healthcare system.
“Health is not the responsibility of the healthcare system alone. Active community participation, particularly from the persons with disabilities community, is the backbone of the Health for All agenda.
“Sabah is now proving that inclusive approaches and two-way communication ensure every voice is heard, and every programme delivers real impact to the people,” she said in a statement.
As a member of the advisory panel, Dr Sabrina is expected to play a significant role in strengthening networks between communities and the Health Department while driving active public participation in all health initiatives at the grassroots level.
Her extensive experience in health administration and advocacy will ensure health programmes in Sabah are planned and implemented in a more inclusive, systematic and high-impact manner, particularly in enhancing the wellbeing of persons with disabilities.
