KUCHING, Mar 27: Malaysians with driving licenses that have expired for more than 36 months are no longer eligible to receive the targeted Budi Madani Ron95 (Budi95) subsidy.
According to Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, the status of a driving licence plays an important role in determining eligibility for the subsidy, therefore, licence holders are advised to ensure their licences remain active.
“A Malaysian Driving Licence (LMM) classified as active is a licence that has not expired for more than 36 months from the last renewal date.
“Within this period, licence holders are still eligible to receive the Budi95 subsidy and may renew their licence directly without any additional test,” he said, as reported by Bernama.
He added that licenses which have expired for more than 36 months cannot be renewed directly, and that the holders are required to retake the driving competency test at any driving institute.
“JPJ will remain committed to strengthening the delivery of efficient, transparent, and high-integrity services, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia Madani, to ensure the continued well-being of the people,” he said. — DayakDaily
