KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 28): The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) voluntary contributions continued to gain momentum, rising to RM19.2 billion last year with the i-Saraan programme being the key driver, said its chief executive Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn.

He said the incentive recipients increased 35.9 per cent to 720,056 and total contributions surged 50.8 per cent to RM4.0 billion.

“The number of Malaysian formal sector members contributing above statutory rates through i-Topup increased 26.0 per cent to 229,901.

“Overall contributions received grew 12.3 per cent to RM121.5 billion, supported by higher membership, wage growth and sustained confidence in EPF,” he said in a statement following the 2025 EPF dividend announcement today.

Meanwhile, EPF membership also grew to 18.1 million in 2025, supported by wider workforce participation, including non-Malaysian employees.

It said active members increased to 10.6 million, improving the active-to-inactive ratio to 59:41.

“EPF membership saw an unusual growth to 18.1 million (2024:16.2 million) driven by the well-documented change in the EPF contribution policy for migrant workers.”

New registrations remained robust, with 2.8 million new members and 89,649 new employers, bringing the number of total active employers to 640,391. – Bernama
