The suspect is also believed to have made direct appointments to companies owned by her family members to obtain bribes, said the sources.
KOTA KINABALU (March 7): A former assistant accountant of a government agency has been detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sabah on suspicion of submitting documents containing false details related to upgrading and maintenance works worth RM90,000.
According to sources, the female suspect, in her 50s, was arrested around 1pm on Friday during a MACC operation here.
Initial investigations indicate that the suspect allegedly committed the act in 2025 by submitting government order documents, invoices, and company quotations containing false material details involving supplies as well as upgrading and maintenance work for the department where she was employed.
“The suspect is also believed to have made direct appointments to companies owned by her family members to obtain bribes,” said the sources.
Sabah MACC director Datuk Fuad Bee Basrah confirmed the arrest and said the case is being investigated under Sections 18 and 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
