Yong, who also submitted appeal documents on behalf of sacked branch secretary Voong Nam Jim, says she will leave the matter to the party leadership to decide.

Lily Yong, the former Kuching head of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), today submitted an appeal against her expulsion from the party.
According to The Borneo Post, Yong submitted her appeal documents, along with those of Voong Nam Jin, who was the Kuching branch secretary.
These were sent to SUPP central executive committee secretary Desmond Lo at the party headquarters in Kuching at about 12.10pm.
When asked about her grounds for appeal, Yong only briefly said: “All (are) in the pages.”
She also said that she would leave the matter to the SUPP leadership to decide in accordance with the party constitution, adding that she and Voong “just want justice”.
About 15 branch members had turned up in support of the duo, wearing white T-shirts printed with the words “Solidarity with Lily Yong & Voong Nam Jin”.
In March, Yong confirmed that she and Voong had been served with expulsion letters based on a statement issued in July last year.
Yong had earlier hinted that her expulsion was linked to allegations that she or her branch failed to provide concrete evidence to substantiate claims of irregularities linked to the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) programme in the statement.
SUPP said then that the statement could have harmed the party’s credibility and public confidence.
The Kenyalang Gold Card, introduced in 2020, provides those aged 60 and above with free health screenings, discounts on health treatment and services, such as dining and grooming, and a RM1,800 death benefit.
More than 350,000 people were registered card users at the end of 2024.
Yong previously served as an assemblyman for Padungan from 2001 to 2006.
She won the seat in the 2001 state assembly elections by defeating DAP’s Chong Chieng Jen by a 1,033-vote majority but lost in 2006 to PKR’s Dominique Ng by a 1,417-vote majority.
Despite her defeat, Yong remained active in politics at both the central and branch levels.
