Foreign female duo nabbed over threat against local woman

KOTA KINABALU (Feb 22): Two foreign women have been arrested in connection with a criminal intimidation case against a local woman in Kampung Kurnia, Tawau last December.

Acting Tawau police chief Supt Champin Piuh said the victim, 25, claimed that the pair—also her neighbours—had threatened her in front of a shop in the area.

“During the incident, both suspects allegedly uttered words of a threatening nature towards the victim.

“The victim later lodged a report at the Tawau police station to enable investi-gations to be carried out,” he said in a statement.

Champin said acting on the report and intelligence gathered, a team from the Criminal Investigation Division arrested the two suspects, aged in their 20s, at about 1.30pm in the Sabindo town area.

“The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code. The po-lice take seriously any form of threats against any individual,” he said.

He urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
