Hajiji: 2026 marks new chapter as Sabah moves forward under SMJ 2.0

KOTA KINABALU (Dec 31): Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor said that 2026 opens a new chapter for all to continue moving forward with strong determination and a spirit of togetherness.

He said the state government is fully prepared to implement the holistic, inclusive and comprehensive Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development plan to ensure sustained prosperity and a brighter, more competitive future for the state.

“Reflecting on 2025, it was a good year, built on a solid foundation of development and consistent progress through the implementation of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 1.0 development plan.

“The state government will continue on this path through the Hala Tuju SMJ 2.0, by strengthening our commitment to unity, prosperity and inclusive development, so that the progress achieved can be enjoyed fairly by all Sabahans,” he said in his New Year 2026 message, here today.

The chief minister once again thanked all Sabahans for the new mandate given to continue leading the state.

“We deeply value this trust and support and it is a great responsibility that we will carry out with full accountability and responsibility.

“With this renewed mandate, the state government remains committed to strengthening governance, ensuring continued political stability, and driving comprehensive development for the well-being of the people.

“Over the past five years, continuous efforts to create stability and a conducive environment have produced tangible results and benefited the state,” he said.

The chief minister hopes all Sabahans be blessed with good health, well-being and success.

“Together with my State Cabinet colleagues, I extend my sincere greetings to all in welcoming the new year,” he added.
