KUCHING (April 6): The Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Commerce (DPIM) has launched a locally-developed artificial intelligence (AI) application as an effort to strengthen digital adaptation and improve AI literacy among the entrepreneurs.
According to chamber president Datuk Mohammad Sahar Mat Din, usahawan.ai incorporates local content and relevance.
“This initiative is part of DPIM’s broader agenda of enhancing digital readiness among business communities, particularly in terms of the adoption of emerging technologies.
“According to studies, only 40 per cent of entrepreneurs are aware of AI, while only 25 per cent are able to use AI applications.
“These figures highlight the need to intensify AI education and training programmes,” he said at the Jihad Business Congress here on Monday.
Adding on, Mohammad Sahar said usahawan.ai should serve as a practical tool in bridging this gap, making AI more accessible and useful in daily business operations.
On the congress, he expressed hope that the programme would elevate the interest in local entrepreneurship.
“At the same time, we hope that it would give encouragement to the leadership of DPIM Sarawak to strengthen efforts, improve digital literacy and AI mastery among our entrepreneurs,” he said.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof officiated at the event, where DPIM deputy president Datuk Dr Salihin Abang was also present.
