KOTA KINABALU (Jan 15): The 15th Inter-Professional Bodies Games (IPBG) 2025 concluded successfully on January 11, bringing to a close a year-long series of sporting activities involving professionals from various disciplines across Sabah.
The closing ceremony was officiated by the Chairman of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Sabah Branch, Datuk Ir. Ts. Mohd Yaakob Hj. Jaafar.
The overall coordination and organisation of IPBG 2025 for IEM Sabah was led by Ir. Wah Kheng Haw, who served as the 15th IPBG Organising Chairman.
IPBG is a biennial event organised on a rotational basis by seven professional bodies, namely the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM), Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), Sabah Law Society (SLS) and the Sabah Pharmaceutical Society (SPS), with the aim of fostering camaraderie, mutual understanding and a healthy lifestyle among professionals.
For the 15th IPBG, IEM served as the main host, coordinating 12 sporting events throughout the year. IEM emerged as the overall champion with 87 points, followed by MMA (65 points) and MIA (54 points). The next IPBG will be hosted by MIA in 2027.
