IGP, Chief Justice head list of Sabah state awards recipients

KOTA KINABALU (March 29): Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail and Chief Justice of Malaysia Datuk Seri Utama Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, as well as corporate figure Datuk Abdul Farish Abd Rashid head the list of Sabah state awards in conjunction with Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman’s 75th official birthday.

Mohd Khalid, Wan Ahmad Farid and Abdul Farish were conferred Sabah’s highest state award, the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK), which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.

They were among the 1,026 recipients who were conferred with state awards in conjunction with the celebration on Monday, March 30.

This year, a total of 79 people were conferred with the “Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu” (PGDK) award, which carries the “Datuk” title, including Sungai Manila assemblyman Datuk Hazem Mubarak Musa, Kinabatangan MP Datuk Mohd Kurniawan Naim Bung Moktar, Sabah Electricity chairman Datuk Saadiah Aziz, Sabah Health Department director Datuk Dr. William Gotulis Chief Conservator of Forests Datuk Zulkifli Suara, Petronas Sabah and Labuan Regional Office general manager, Datuk Siti Ayu Haniza Abdul Wahab Sandakan Municipal Council president Datuk Walter Joseph Kenson and Umno Kota Kinabalu Chief Datuk Musliati Moslimin.

Also conferred the PGDK are Kota Kinabalu Journalist Association (KKJA) chairman Jimmy Goh Kian Kong, PBS Moyog Chief John Chryso Masabal, High Court judge Datuk Maslinda @ Linda Mohd Ainal, former state footballer Datuk Henry Saimpon and former national Karateka Michelle Koh Sui Ling.

Thirteen individuals were conferred the Justice of the Peace (JP) award, namely State Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun, Datuk Dr Ahemad Sade, Datuk Ram Singh, Datuk John Ambrose, Emmie M Idang, Lim Min Chee, Datuk Abdul Kadir Sikkandar, Awang Faisal Assyiffa Ag Rahim, Datuk Awang Kadin Tang, Chong Tsin Full, Muhammad Yazrin Zaifuddin Zainuddin, Shahlan Jufri, and Sim Fui.

Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah secretary-general Christy Chok and Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) member Willie Jude Junadi were conferred the Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu (ASDK).

Several members of the media were also among the recipients, including Borneo Post senior reporters Mariah Doksil, who is also Sabah Journalists Association president, and Lester J. Bingkasan.

They received the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu (ADK) award, while See Hua Daily News assistant chief reporter Sim Kian Yun received the Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK) award.

Overall, 117 individuals received the ASDK, 192 the ADK, and 260 the BSK.

A further 249 recipients were awarded the Bintang Kinabalu (BK) and 113 received the Sijil Kehormat (SK) in conjunction with the official birthday celebration.
