KOTA KINABALU (Nov 30): Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku Rakyat Sabah (STARSabah) today extended its congratulations to Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor on his reappointment as the Sabah Chief Minister, following the conclusion of the 17th state election.

In a media statement, its president, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey G Kitingan said the party fully respected the decision of the people and accepted the outcome of the democratic process.

“The people have spoken, and we accept their decision with full respect. The democratic process has once again reflected the voice and aspirations of Sabahans,” he said.

Jeffrey also expressed the party’s appreciation to all its supporters throughout the state, with special mention of the voters in Tambunan and Bingkor for renewing their trust in STARSabah and its candidates.

“We express our deepest gratitude to all supporters across the state, especially to the voters of Tambunan and Bingkor for once again placing their trust in our leadership and candidates. Your confidence strengthens our resolve to serve Sabah with integrity and purpose,” he said.

Looking ahead, Jeffrey said STARSabah would remain committed to playing a constructive role in supporting the Chief Minister and contributing to the state government’s agenda for development, stability and progress.

“Sabah deserves a government that works together, especially on matters of constitutional rights and long-term sovereignty,” he stressed.

Central to STARSabah’s continued struggle, he added, was the fulfilment of Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement as enshrined under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and the Federal Constitution.

“In this regard, STARSabah reiterates its long-standing commitment toward the fulfilment of Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement. Since this negotiation can only be carried out government-to-government, it is crucial that Sabah has strong, principled voices involved in the process,” he said.

Jeffrey emphasised that the fight for Sabah’s rights and autonomy remained at the heart of the party’s mission.

“This struggle has always been at the core of STARSabah, and we stand ready to support any sincere and courageous effort to secure what rightfully belongs to Sabah,” he said.
