KUCHING (March 4): Pay and Go Sdn Bhd and SNS Network (M) Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop integrated parking solutions aimed at enhancing urban mobility and supporting Sarawak’s smart city agenda.
Under the collaboration framework, SNS Network will contribute its expertise in ICT infrastructure, hardware deployment and technical support, while Pay and Go will provide digital payment systems and software solutions.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Kuching South Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, representing Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.
Dr Sim described the partnership as a milestone for Sarawak and a platform for broader regional growth.
“This partnership envisions expansion beyond Sarawak into West Malaysia and Asean countries, aligning with the shared aspiration to position Malaysia as a regional leader in smart city solutions.
“By extending these innovations across borders, they aim to foster greater regional integration, strengthen digital ecosystems, and create scalable models that can benefit communities throughout Southeast Asia,” he said.
His text-of-speech was read by Wee at the Imperial Hotel on Tuesday.
As a publicly listed company, SNS Network brings corporate governance, credibility and long-term sustainability to the initiative, providing the technological backbone required for large-scale smart city systems.
Meanwhile, Pay and Go contributes strengths in software development, secure digital payments, regulatory compliance and user experience — capabilities considered critical in ensuring cybersecurity, data governance and public trust.
Dr Sim said the complementary strengths of both companies reflect the importance of strong public–private collaboration in driving Sarawak’s smart city agenda.
“This MoU demonstrates how the private sector can work hand-in-hand with government aspirations.
“By combining infrastructure with intelligent software platforms, this partnership lays the groundwork not only for integrated parking solutions, but also for future expansion into IoT (Internet of Things)-enabled services and other smart city components,” he added.
Dr Sim also welcomed the commitment to phased implementation and structured deployment.
“Transformation must be practical, scalable, and inclusive.
“It must deliver tangible benefits to local authorities, businesses and, most importantly, the people,” he said.
Also present were Pay and Go founder and chief executive officer Eddie Wee and SNS Network executive director Kelvin Pah.
