KUCHING (Dec 14): A kids’ colouring contest themed ‘Say No to Bullying’ will be held at CityONE Megamall here on Dec 28 to raise awareness of the importance of kindness and empathy among the young.

Jointly organised by the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Stampin Branch and Kawasan Simpang Tiga Kenyalang Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), with CityONE Megamall as the venue sponsor, the event is scheduled to begin at 10.30am.

“This meaningful event aims to raise awareness among children about the importance of kindness, empathy, and standing up against bullying. It also aspires to provide a fun and creative platform for participants to express themselves through art,” said MRC Stampin in a statement.

The competition is divided into three age groups, namely Category A for children aged seven to eight, Category B for those between nine and 10 years old, and Category C for 11 to 12 years old.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation, while winners will take home attractive prizes.

“Children will have the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents while learning valuable lessons about respect and inclusion through creative activity. At the same event, there will be a health screening programme organised by the National Cancer Society Malaysia for members of the public,” the branch added.

Participants are advised to bring their own small colouring tables and chairs, as well as colouring pencils or crayons.

No registration fee is required, but interested participants must register by Dec 20 via WhatsApp to Wendy at 019-8182244.

“This competition is more than just colouring—it’s about empowering children to use their creativity to spread the message that bullying has no place in our community,”the branch said.
