KENINGAU (Jan 11): The condition of the Kampung Baginda suspension bridge came under close scrutiny when two state leaders conducted a site visit to assess its safety level and identify infrastructure improvement needs in the interest of local residents.
Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Mohd Ishak Ayub, together with Assistant Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Jordan Jude Ellron, visited the bridge yesterday morning to inspect the current state of the structure and its supporting facilities.
Mohd Iskah is Bingkor assemblyman while Jordan is Tulid assemblyman.
The visit aimed to obtain a first-hand overview of the safety condition of the bridge, which serves as a main access route for villagers, as well as to identify any urgent maintenance or upgrading works required.
It was informed that the findings from the initial assessment would be brought to the relevant authorities for consideration of follow-up action, in line with the state government’s commitment to ensuring that basic rural infrastructure remains safe and fully functional.
The Kampung Baginda suspension bridge is a vital access point for the local community, particularly for daily activities, schooling and economic purposes, making it one of the priority infrastructures under the area’s development agenda.
