ADVERTISE HERE
KUCHING: The Salvation Army Children’s Home Kuching serves as a haven for those who have faced adversity, offering care, education, and compassion to guide children towards brighter futures, says Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong.
He said the home intertwines learning and recreational activities to not just educate young minds but also instil confidence, resilience, and empowerment in its children.
“The compassionate souls and devoted staff at the Salvation Army Children’s Home Kuching and their tireless dedication and unwavering commitment in creating a safe space for the children is nothing short of remarkable.
“Your kindness has sown seeds of hope and possibility in these young hearts.
“In our pursuit of a child-friendly City, initiatives like this hold the key. They represent our commitment to providing a nurturing haven where every child feels cherished, supported, and equipped with opportunities to thrive and grow,” he said.
He was speaking at a Christmas gathering organised by the Kuching Love Book Association at the Salvation Army Children’s Home Kuching held here on Friday evening (Dec 22).
Wee said the gathering serves as a reminder of everyone’s collective duty – a duty to protect, nurture, and empower the children.
Each child holds boundless potential, and it’s our shared responsibility to foster an environment where they can thrive, dream, and flourish.
“As we embrace the festive season, let us extend the warmth of love and the joy of giving. May the spirit of the holiday season bring smiles to every face here today, reminding the society that every child deserves love, care, and the chance to grow and bloom,” he said.
