TAWAU (Feb 25): Liberal Democratic Party Sabah (LDP) President Datuk Chin Su Phin has announced plans to restructure the party’s Tawau division to inject fresh energy and ideas, strengthen grassroots engagement, and enhance service delivery to the public.

Speaking at a recent Chinese New Year gathering in Tawau, Chin described the event as more than a celebration, calling it a key platform to foster unity and consolidate the party’s organisational foundation.

“I am truly happy to be able to celebrate Chinese New Year together with the Tawau division leaders and members. This gathering is not only about the festive spirit, but also about strengthening our unity and reinforcing the party’s foundation at the grassroots level,” he said.

Also present were LDP Deputy President Datuk Yong Wui Chung, Nominated Assemblyman and LDP Secretary-General Datuk Chin Shu Ying, Supreme Council members, as well as division chairmen and representatives from Balung, Sri Tanjung, and Merotai.

Chin expressed appreciation for the commitment and service of Tawau party members, adding that the upcoming restructuring aims to improve efficiency and deepen the party’s connection with the community.

“The party leadership will soon carry out a restructuring of the Tawau division to inject new energy and fresh ideas, so that we can improve our effectiveness and better serve the people,” he said.

He also highlighted growing interest among young people in Tawau, including professionals, to join the party, reflecting recognition of LDP’s vision and direction.

“We welcome more capable and aspiring young people to join LDP and contribute their services to the community. The future of the party depends on the active participation of our youth,” he said.

Reaffirming that service to the people remains the party’s core mission, Chin said unity among leaders and members will enable LDP to strengthen its presence in Tawau, stay close to the rakyat, and effectively represent public interests.
