KUCHING, May 15: Kuching South City Council’s (MBKS) rate assessment bills for the first and second half of 2024 have been issued either through the Post Office or dispatched by hand by the council’s staff.
In a statement, MBKS said that ratepayers who have not received or have misplaced their assessment bills are requested to come to the MBKS One-Stop Service Counter on the ground floor of the MBKS complex at Jalan Padungan, Kuching or the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC), Aras 1, Jalan Bukit Mata, Kuching, where copy of bills will be issued upon request.
It further stated that the due date for payment for the first half of 2024 is due on May 31, 2024, while rate payments for the second half of 2024 are due on Oct 31, 2024. Payment after the due date will be subjected to a surcharge at 1 per cent per month or part thereof.
“On no account will consideration be given to waiving the surcharge on the grounds of non-receipt of the assessment bills,” it further elaborated.
MBKS will also be opening its counters at the One-Stop Service Centre on May 25 and 26 for payment of MBKS assessment bills only.
Ratepayers may also use e-payment to pay their bills through www.paybillsmalaysia.com, https://service.sarawak.gov.my, S Pay Global (formerly known as Sarawak Pay) or via Internet banking through CIMB Bank Berhad, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia, Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad, Bank Islam, Public Bank Berhad, JomPay and Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN).
They may also opt to make payment at the counters of Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), SESCO, Kuching Water Board, Post Office, Kuching North City Hall (DBKU), and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).
