BINTANGOR (Dec 9): Activities that encourage community participation are seen as an important avenue for fostering closer relationships.

Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing hailed such programmes as ‘creating opportunities for warm interaction, experience-sharing as well as reinforcing cooperation and also professional connections’.

“For instance, the year-end dinner of SMK Bandar Bintangor not only gives us a short break from our daily routines, but also the chance to celebrate the school’s achievements throughout the year with joy.

“This appreciation dinner is also dedicated to recognising the efforts and contributions of teachers over the past year.

“The commitment and dedication shown by the entire school community in executing various school activities are greatly appreciated and remain the cornerstone of the school’s success,” he said in his speech for the year-end dinner on Sunday hosted by the secondary school’s Welfare Club.

Ding also expressed his hope for such gathering to continue strengthening the unity of the SMK Bandar Bintangor community; thus, nurturing a sense of belonging among all its members.

“The unwavering dedication of educators in managing and implementing school activities is truly valued and forms the backbone of the school’s achievements.

“We hope that this spirit of cooperation and commitment will continue in the years ahead for the benefit of everyone,” he added.

Ding later announced a special Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM5,000 for SMK Bandar Bintangor Club, to support its annual activities lined up for next year.

Also present were school principal Leo Mathias Kamandan, as well as the senior assistants Nurhan Hessen (administration) and Selamah Ismail (co-curriculum).
