SAR team successfully locates elderly woman.
PAKAN (Jan 18): An elderly woman with a disability who went missing in Pakan on Jan 13 has been found safe today, after five days of search and rescue (SAR) operations.
Julau district police chief DSP Alif Haiqal Ramesh Abdullah said the woman was located by the SAR team at 10:15am.
“The victim, 68-year-old Seriah Luyoh, was found 1.3 kilometres into the forest near an oil palm plantation behind Rumah Ajai Sandin Berasok longhouse in Pakan.
“She was weak when found but had only minor injuries. Immediately after being located, she was brought out of the forest and sent to Pakan Health Clinic for treatment at 11:30am,” he said.
Seriah had gone into the nearby forest to collect vegetables on Jan 13, and when she did not return home by late afternoon, her family contacted the police for help in locating her.
With her safe recovery, the SAR operation officially ended at 11:45am.
