KUCHING (March 16): A training camp for Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) cadets is among the initiatives to be organised by the MRC Stampin this year.

In a statement today, MRC Stampin said the camp aims to strengthen leadership, discipline, first aid knowledge and spirit of volunteerism among cadets.

It will equip cadets with practical skills and valuable exposure, preparing them to serve effectively in humanitarian and emergency situations.

The announcement was made MRC Stampin’s annual general meeting held here recently, which brought together members, volunteers, teachers and students from several schools and representatives from relevant government agencies to review last year’s achievements and outline the direction for future humanitarian efforts.

MRC Stampin said the meeting emphasised the importance of building strong relationships with government agencies and partner organisations.

It noted that such collaboration is essential in strengthening humanitarian work, particularly in emergency response, community health initiatives, disaster preparedness and youth development programmes.

MRC Stampin said members at the meeting endorsed the minutes of the previous meeting, the annual report and the audited financial statement, while a certified auditor for the year was also appointed.

In his address, MRC Stampin chairman Chew Kim Soon expressed appreciation to committee members, volunteers and partners for their continued support and dedication.

He noted that MRC Stampin celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, marking an important milestone that reflected years of commitment to community service and humanitarian assistance.

Presenting the 2026 annual plan, Chew highlighted MRC Stampin’s focus on strengthening emergency response capabilities, expanding community outreach programmes and enhancing the development of MRC youth and cadets.

The meeting also witnessed the issuance of warrants of appointment to the newly appointed committee members.

“The event was conducted in a warm and lively atmosphere, reflecting the shared commitment of all participants towards humanitarian service,” said MRC Stampin.

It added the meeting concluded with a group photo session and networking among participants, marking another meaningful milestone in the continued growth and service of MRC Stampin.
