KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 7): Management and Science University (MSU) held its 36th Convocation Ceremony here on Saturday where 2,453 graduates from 128 academic programmes received their scrolls over four sessions held across two days at the MSU Chancellor Hall.
This year’s cohort included 41 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) recipients, 65 Master’s graduates, 1,517 Bachelor’s degree holders and 830 Diploma graduates.
The ceremony also marked a significant milestone with the first graduating batches from three programmes which are the Bachelor in Economics and Finance (Honours), Advanced Diploma in Midwifery, and Diploma in Music.
The ceremony was graced and officiated by MSU Chancellor, HRH Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Ibni Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin, Raja Muda of Kedah.
Also present were MSU President and Founder Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab. Yajid; Pro-Chancellor Professor Emeritus Dato’ Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang; Vice-Chancellor Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid; members of the Board of Governors and senior university leadership.
The convocation also witnessed the appointment of Prof Emeritus Dato’ Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang as MSU’s second Pro-Chancellor.
Renowned for his leadership in the public sector and notable contributions across education, energy, environment and health, Dr Zaini is expected to play a pivotal role in further strengthening MSU’s academic stature and global positioning.
A total of 70 graduates received special excellence awards, which included plaques, cash prizes and scholarships sponsored by the MSU Foundation.
Additionally, 37 graduates received the Academic Award, while 29 were presented the Industry Award, supported by more than 30 industry partners including MSU Medical Centre, MSU Pharma, ACCA Malaysia, Institut Jantung Negara, Dunlopillo Malaysia, Pharmaniaga Berhad, Focus Point Vision Care Group, and Mahsuri Food, among others.
MSU highlighted its strong collaboration with more than 3,000 industry partners especially through the University Industry Advisory Panel (UIAP) in order to enhance programme relevance and graduate employability.
This long-standing commitment earned MSU the title of ASEAN’s Most Transformative & Impactful TVET University at the Malaysia Education & TVET Awards 2025.
MSU’s recent achievements underscore its expanding influence in higher education. According to the Ministry of Higher Education’s 2024 Graduate Tracer Study, the university achieved a 99.7 per cent Graduate Employability (GE) rate and a 99 per cent Graduate Employment (GM) rate, one of the highest in the country.
The university was also awarded a 5-star QS Stars rating across nine categories, including Teaching, Facilities, Graduate Employability, Good Governance, Social Impact and Global Engagement.
MSU performed strongly in subject-specific rankings as well. In the QS WUR by Subject 2025, Hospitality & Leisure Management ranked 36th globally and 2nd in Malaysia, while Art & Design placed within the Top 51–100 globally and No 1 in Malaysia.
With more than four decades of excellence, MSU’s continued growth reflects its commitment to producing highly skilled, future-ready graduates and strengthening its position in both the national and global higher education landscape.
