MIRI (Aug 26): The ‘Pentarama X Kelab Malaysiaku’ event was successfully held today at SMK Chung Hua Miri.

The event is an initiative by the Madani government through the Malaysia Information Department (JaPen) and District Education Department to foster a positive attitude towards supporting government policies and activities.

“Kelab Malaysiaku was established in 1995 and rebranded multiple times prior. This year, alongside Pentarama, it serves as an integrated platform for educating and engaging students, particularly in fostering patriotism and a sense of unity among youths,” said JaPen Sarawak director Helmy Hamid in his remarks after officiating the opening of the event.

He added the main objective of the event was to instill patriotism and love for the country among students.

“This initiative also seeks to emphasise the importance of maintaining peace and unity among Malaysia’s diverse races, ethnicities and religions. More importantly, it aligns with this year’s National Day and Malaysia Day theme — Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka — which symbolises the freedom and unity of Malaysians,” he said.

In addition to this event, JaPen has organised the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) convoy.

Helmy encouraged the local community to participate in the National Month celebration by flying the Jalur Gemilang through the ‘One House, One Jalur Gemilang’ initiative.

Also present were Miri District Education officer Mariam Monek, JaPen Sarawak Communication Services and Community Development Division chief assistant director Rozilawati Nor Aziz, Miri Division JaPen officer Aidawatie Mustapha and SMK Chung Hua Miri principal Lai Jia Ling.

Earlier, a Jalinan Insan Wahana Aspirasi Madani programme under the Piasau constituency was held at the same venue, which was officiated by Mariam. This programme is a JaPen initiative to empower the local community and keep them updated of the government’s information and policies.
