KUCHING (Dec 23): The National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) will be organising a free health screening programme themed ‘Jejak Kanser’ to promote early detection of cancer among the public.
In a statement, NCSM said the programme will be held at a space beside Food Emporium in CityOne Megamall here from 10am to 2pm on Sunday (Dec 28).
The initiative is organised in partnership with the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Stampin Branch and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Simpang Tiga Kenyalang, with the aim of raising awareness on the importance of early cancer screening, particularly for lung and liver cancers.
During the event, members of the public will be able to undergo general health screening as well as lung and liver cancer assessments, free of charge. NCSM said early detection plays a crucial role in improving treatment outcomes and survival rates.
The ‘Jejak Kanser’ programme forms part of NCSM’s ongoing efforts to educate the community on cancer prevention, early detection, and available treatment options, while making screening services more accessible.
Members of the public, especially those with higher risk factors or a family history of cancer, are encouraged to take part in the programme and make use of the opportunity for early screening.
