KUCHING (Sept 15): Nizam Khalyd has been re-elected as Sarawak Entrepreneur Association (SEA) president for the term 2024 to 2026.
His re-election marked the continuation of his efforts to drive the growth and success of Sarawak entrepreneurial community, according to a press release.
Nizam was re-elected during the association’s recent Annual General Meeting, which also featured insightful presentations from industry experts, including a talk on Artificial Intelligence (AI), an InvestSarawak session, as well as discussions on key topics such as e-invoicing and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.
“I am deeply honoured to be re-elected as SEA president for another term. Over the past few years, we have witnessed tremendous recovery within our entrepreneurial community, and I am proud of what we have achieved together.
“Moving forward, my focus will remain on creating more opportunities for our members, improving access to resources, and ensuring that the voice of Sarawak entrepreneurs is heard at all levels,” he said.
In leading the association, Nizam aims to continue building a business ecosystem that promotes innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.
His goals for the upcoming term include expanding business recovery programmes, supporting the digital transformation of small, medium enterprises (SMEs), and strengthening partnerships with government bodies to assist entrepreneurs in overcoming the challenges of today’s competitive market.
Additionally, his agenda will align with Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
He also voiced concerns regarding the recent implementation of e-invoicing in Malaysia.
While acknowledging the potential benefits of digitalisation, such as improved efficiency and reduced administrative burdens, he highlighted the challenges that many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) face in adapting to the new system, particularly in terms of costs and accessibility.
Nizam’s re-election marks the continuation of his efforts to drive the growth and success of Sarawak’s entrepreneurial community.
During his previous term, SEA has made significant strides in fostering collaboration among entrepreneurs, providing valuable training opportunities, and advocating for policy changes that benefit local businesses.
The association remains a crucial platform for entrepreneurs across the state, providing support, networking opportunities, and advocacy for local business interests and is is well-positioned to continue playing a key role in shaping the future of entrepreneurship in Sarawak.
