MIRI (Sept 7): Twenty members of the Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) attended a ‘CapCut Video Editing and Graphic Design’ workshop last Thursday at the Permyjaya National Information and Communication Centre (NADI), formerly known as the Digital Economy Centre (PEDi).
The half-day workshop, sponsored by Miri MP Chiew Choon Man, provided an opportunity for participants to learn about video-editing using CapCut’s mobile app, under the guidance of the centre’s manager Zurfarahida Za’baie.
Chiew in a statement said the rapid advancement of technology is forcing media professionals to face the increasing technical challenges, hence the urgency in providing them with on-the-job training.
“By mastering emerging technological tools, media professionals can improve their work efficiency, thus creating more opportunities for self-improvement and better living standards,” he said.
Additionally, Chiew emphasised the importance of utilising government resources, such as the computer facilities at the National Information and Communication Centre, to provide more skill training courses for the public.
He said an E-Invoicing System course was recently held at the centre and it received positive feedback from participants, giving them a dose of confidence to offer more hands-on training sessions.
“We will organise a second session on the course soon, and we are seeking to collaborate with the Inland Revenue Board to launch more practical courses on e-invoicing in order to help businesses adapt to the new invoicing method,” he said.
