KOTA KINABALU (March 2): Only one temporary flood relief centre (PPS) remains in operation in Beaufort as the flood situation in the district continues to improve.
The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee said in a statement on Monday that three PPS in Beaufort have officially closed. Only the Dewan DUN Banir PPS is still operating, currently sheltering 377 people from 136 families.
The evacuees comprise 107 men, 111 women, 81 boys and 78 girls.
The Malaysia Civil Defence Force and the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia will continue to monitor the flood situation in Beaufort, the committee added.
