KOTA KINABALU (March 30): In conjunction with the official 75th birthday celebration of the Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Sabah, a parade comprising of contingents representing various government departments, as well as uniformed and non-uniformed bodies took place at the Padang Merdeka here on Monday morning.

Prior to that, a grand ceremony was held to mark the arrival of the Head of State Tun Musa Aman and his wife Toh Puan Faridah Tussin, who were received by the Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor and his wife Datin Seri Datuk Juliah Salag.

Musa then officiated at the event, which was followed by inspection of the guard-of-honour, and later, a gun salute performed in his honour.

The celebration commenced with the formal parade of the contingents from the military and police forces.

Later, Musa proceeded to the Istana Negeri to preside over the investiture ceremony, where state honours were conferred upon selected individuals.
