Datuk Seri Panglima Arthur Joseph Kurup
KOTA KINABALU (Dec 1): Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) has formally voiced its support for the formation of the new Sabah state government, emphasising its belief that the move will ensure political stability, continuity of development and the well-being of the people.
In a statement today, PBRS president Datuk Seri Panglima Arthur Joseph Kurup said the party also fully supports Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor in resuming his leadership as the 17th Chief Minister of Sabah.
“PBRS supports the establishment of a new Sabah State Government to ensure political stability, continuity in development and the welfare of the people,” Arthur said.
He added that Hajiji’s leadership has demonstrated consistent commitment to maintaining stability, advancing Sabah’s economy, and defending Sabah’s rights under the framework of the Malaysia 1963 Agreement.
As a component party of Barisan Nasional (BN), PBRS also reaffirmed its support for BN’s participation in the Sabah government, saying that constructive cooperation among the parties forming the administration is a vital foundation for driving development agendas, strengthening governance, and ensuring that the voice of Sabahans remains a priority.
Arthur said PBRS believes political stability is the main prerequisite to attract more investments, create job opportunities, and bring balanced development across Sabah, especially in rural and interior regions.
He pledged that PBRS will continue to play an active role to ensure that the government formed remains strong, stable and effective for the benefit of Sabah’s people.
