KUCHING (March 18): Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Batu Lintang Division has proposed that all its elected representatives be retained as candidates under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the upcoming state election.

Division chairman Stephen Ang Teck Chai said the proposal was among the resolutions passed at the PDP Batu Lintang Division triennial general assembly (TGA) held recently.

He said the division also reaffirmed its full support for party president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.

“During the assembly, delegates unanimously endorsed Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing to remain as party president for the upcoming term, citing the need for continuity in strengthening the party’s influence at both state and national levels,” Ang stressed.

Tiong is one of the PDP’s eight assemblymen, serving as the elected representative for Dudong.

The other PDP assemblymen are Datuk Henry Harry Jinep (Tasik Biru), Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil (Marudi), Dato Rolland Duat Jubin (Meluan), Friday Belik (Krian), as well as three who joined from now-defunct Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PBS) ― Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, Baru Bian (Ba Kelalan) and Dr Johnical Rayong (Engkilili).

Ang said the division has pledged to mobilise its machinery to ensure victory for party candidates in the next state election.

Meanwhile, the TGA saw Ang returned unopposed to continue helming the PDP Batu Lintang division for the 2026–2029 term.

Victor Sayo Johnson was elected deputy chairman, while Mohamad Raaid Umar and Kho Thong Nyap were appointed as vice chairmen.

Other office-bearers include secretary Thomas Sim Eng Shan, assistant secretary Yusti Taili, and treasurer Talis Dudom.

The division also named Kasinathan Anamalay, Luqman Dris, and Jordan Reuben Liew as elected ordinary members.

Earlier, the division’s youth wing also concluded its triennial assembly, with Mohamad Fauzi Ali elected as division youth chief.
