KUCHING, Dec 17: Pertama Ferroalloys Sdn Bhd is seeking guidance from the Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak (KPWK) to enhance staff benefits particularly for female employees.
The company conveyed its intention during a courtesy call on Minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah at her office in Baitul Makmur II building here last Wednesday (Dec 13).
The company’s delegation included its managing director Yuki Nakamura; Human Resource, IT and Administrative Department manager Porida Sumin; and Public Affairs and CSR Department senior executive Augustine Lawang Mekai.
According to a press kit, Pertama Ferroalloys Sdn Bhd has been operating in Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu, Sarawak since 2010 as Malaysia’s first large-scale manganese alloys and ferrosilicon plant.
With a workforce comprising 631 dedicated individuals, including 67 females and 564 males, the organisation recognises the importance of cultivating an inclusive and supportive work environment.
“By promoting women’s staff benefits, Pertama Ferroalloys can empower its female workforce, enhance their wellbeing, and foster a diverse and successful organisation.
“To further support the commitment, Pertama Ferroalloys recently implemented various staff benefits tailored to the unique needs of the employee. These include flexible working arrangements, a new maternity staff support scheme, a paternity leave scheme, a newborn baby incentive scheme, and other supportive initiatives.
