KOTA KINABALU (March 19): Political stability remains the cornerstone of Sabah’s development and prosperity, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.
He stressed that the state government is steadfast in maintaining the stability currently enjoyed in Sabah, describing it as a primary prerequisite for sustained growth.
Hajiji said a more strategic and comprehensive roadmap has been outlined under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development plan to elevate the state’s progress.
“SMJ 2.0 is not merely a plan on paper, but a clear commitment to transforming the state’s economy, empowering human capital and ensuring that the welfare of the people remains a priority,” he said in his 2026 Hari Raya Aidilfitri message.
He also called on Sabahans to use the Aidilfitri celebrations to renew their resolve, strengthen unity and redouble efforts in building a more advanced and prosperous state under the Sabah Maju Jaya agenda.
“Aidilfitri is a symbol of victory over one’s desires, the triumph of patience and sincerity, and a time to strengthen bonds among family, neighbours and the whole community.
“In this blessed land of Sabah, Aidilfitri is celebrated in a spirit of goodwill by people of various races and religions. This is our true strength — unity in diversity.
“The values of mutual respect, tolerance and togetherness must continue to be preserved as the foundation of the state’s stability and progress,” he added.
