Preserve harmony in multiracial Kanowit, says former Machan rep

KANOWIT (March 1): Former Machan assemblyman Gramong Juna has called upon the community to continue strengthening unity and mutual understanding for the common good.

Speaking at a Chinese New Year celebration held at the Kanowit District Office Hall here recently, Gramong said the festive occasion is not only observed by the Chinese community but also serves as a platform to foster closer ties among the various races in the district.

He noted that Kanowit, known for its multiracial society, must continue to preserve the harmony that has long been established among its people.

“I would like to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year, especially our Chinese friends in Kanowit, whether you are here in this hall or elsewhere. May this year bring abundance, success and well-being to all of us,” he said.

He added that the strong turnout reflected the spirit of unity within the community and expressed appreciation to attendees and organisers for ensuring the success of the event.

The celebration was attended by community leaders, heads of various associations and local residents.
