Ramces Tawang re-elected unopposed as Padawan Adventure 4×4 Club president

PADAWAN, March 16: Ramces Tawang has been re-elected unopposed as president of the Padawan Adventure 4×4 Club for a second term (2026–2027) during the club’s annual general meeting (AGM) and election held yesterday (March 15).

Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin, when officiating the club’s AGM, urged the club to expand its activities beyond motorsports and organise more community-based and welfare programmes that benefit the wider public.

He said such initiatives are important to ensure the public does not perceive 4×4 clubs as being exclusive or only for the wealthy.

“We don’t want the public to presume that the club is only for the rich. We should have more community service activities that are relevant to the community,” he said.

Willie, who is also the Club’s patron, further encouraged the club to organise more training sessions related to driving skills and vehicle recovery techniques for its members, while introducing fresh and engaging programmes to keep members actively involved.

He also challenged the club to repeat the Puncak Borneo New Year Countdown event this year after the inaugural event on New Year’s Eve 2026 was successfully organised despite heavy rain and a power outage shortly after midnight.

During the event, Willie also presented a RM20,000 grant to support the club’s activities.
