BINGKOR (Feb 23): Residents here have complained that the Tuntumulud–Bingkor Road is constantly collapsing following heavy rain.
According to them, although repair works are carried out, heavy downpours result in the road structure sustaining further damage.
Bingkor Community Welfare Association chairman Yazid Mohd Hasnan Tawik @ Charles said the situation is deeply worrying as the road serves as the main route for residents.
“Each time it rains, this road collapses. After it is repaired, it becomes damaged again when the next rainfall occurs.

“This shows that the underlying issue has yet to be comprehensively addressed and requires serious attention from the relevant authorities,” he complained.
He pointed out the situation not only disrupts the smooth flow of traffic but also endangers road users, including students, workers, and emergency vehicles that depend on the road daily.
The community called on the Public Works Department (JKR) to give immediate attention to the matter by carrying out a comprehensive technical inspection, slope stabilisation works, improvements to the drainage system, as well as regular maintenance to ensure the long-term durability of the road.
“Residents of Bingkor hope that immediate action and a comprehensive solution can be implemented as the latest collapse clearly demonstrates a recurring problem that requires decisive intervention for the safety and well-being of road users,” he stressed.
