KUCHING, Apr 14: Sarawak has opened its pavilion at The Meetings Show Asia Pacific (TMS APAC) in Singapore for a third consecutive year, reinforcing its push into the Asia Pacific market and advancing its positioning as the legacy capital of business events in Malaysia and Borneo.
According to a press release, the Sarawak Pavilion brings its ‘Driving Impact Together’ brand promise to life by placing local enterprise at the centre, serving as a strategic showcase where Sarawak-based brands engage international audiences, build meaningful partnerships, and expand into new markets.
The move to participate in TMS APAC is supported by a positive regional market backdrop, with strong growth observed across key Asia Pacific markets, including Singapore, which recorded a 76.22 per cent increase in visitor arrivals in February 2026.
This momentum is further reinforced by Sarawak’s efforts to strengthen regional accessibility, including the establishment of AirBorneo, positioned as a strategic enabler to enhance connectivity, unlock new market access, and elevate Sarawak’s competitiveness within the Asia Pacific business events landscape.
In his opening speech, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan said they aim to promote Sarawak not just with brochures, but with confidence, pride, and with the belief that what is being offered is valuable for business event organisers.
“Every conversation matters. Every connection is an opportunity. The meetings you are about to have can open doors not just for your organisation, but for Sarawak as a whole. And most importantly, we are here to drive impact together,” he said in his text speech, which was made available to the media.
He said Singapore is now Sarawak’s fastest-growing market, with visitor arrivals up 76 per cent in February this year.
“These are not only Singaporeans, but also international travellers who transit through the country to reach Sarawak,” he said.
He added that with AirBorneo, accessibility into Sarawak continues to improve, providing an opportunity for high-value business events.
“Because what we are offering goes beyond rooms, venues, or itineraries. We are offering a destination where organisers can create meaningful events and lasting experiences,” he said.
Meanwhile, Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) acting chief executive officer (CEO), Jason Tan Chin Foo, noted that Sarawak is increasingly being viewed as a strategic partner of choice.
“Our focus on legacy-driven business events, and our deliberate efforts to drive impact with stakeholders and communities, are driving our ambition forward as the legacy capital of business events in Malaysia and Borneo,” he said.
