“This aligns with the government’s commitment to allocate RM250 million annually to finance higher education for Sarawakian students,” he said at the Demi Rakyat Bersama Pusat Khidmat DUN dan Parlimen Zon Selatan programme organised by Ukas here on Monday (May 25).

On May 24, based on statistics provided by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD) in collaboration with Yayasan Sarawak and S Pay Global, 4,837 Sarawakian students have accepted the FTES.

Breaking it down by programme, 3,691 students or 76.3 per cent are pursuing their studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), followed by Finance and Accounting (1,131 students or 23.4 per cent) and Psychology (15 students or 0.3 per cent). — DayakDaily
